I was born in Kentville, Nova Scotia and became interested in music at a very early age. I learned clarinet as a child, then taught myself to play keyboard. I got my first guitar at age 18 and immediately connected with the instrument. Once I became proficient at it, I worked as a guitar teacher in New Minas, Halifax, Moncton, Vancouver and Wolfville. I play acoustic and electric guitars, mandolin and bass guitar.
In 2003, I met my wife in Wolfville, Nova Scotia. We moved to Germany (her home country) and I taught full-time guitar there for about 15 years. I speak fluent German as well as my mother language, English. In 2011 we had a son, and began planning to move our family back to Nova Scotia to continue on with lessons. Now I'm settled here and teaching full-time in Wolfville.
I love guitar and I love teaching it. I'm a very patient person, and over the years I've learned plenty of tricks to help my students succeed. I have a very broad taste in music, and you'll find I'm willing to play almost anything. I also have great experience in the recording studio, as well as with equipment such as synths, tube amps, interfaces, mics, drums and diverse software.
